If we eat or drink more than our body needs, we'll put on weight because the energy we do not use is stored as fat. If we eat and drink too little, we'll lose weight.
We should also eat a wide range of foods to make sure we're getting a balanced diet and our body is receiving all the nutrients it needs.
Here are tips of healthy eating.
1. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables
It's recommended that we eat at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetable every day.
They can be fresh, frozen, canned, dried, or juiced. Why not chop a banana over our breakfast cereal, or swap our usual mid-morning snack for a piece of fresh fruit?
2. Eat more fish, including a portion of oily fish

Fish is a good source of protein and contains many vitamins and minerals. Aim to eat at least 2 portions of fish a week including at least 1 portion of oily fish.
Oily fish are high in omega-3 fats, which may help prevent heart disease. Oily fish include salmon, trout, herring, and sardines.
3. Cut down on saturated fat and sugar
We need some fat in our diet, but it's important to pay attention to the amount and type of fat we're eating.
