Pengertian auxiliary verb adalah kata kerja yang muncul sebelum kata kerja utama (main verb) atau bisa disebut juga kata kerja bantu dari kata kerja utama.
Kata kerja ini tidak bisa berdiri sendiri, namun dapat mengubah atau memodifikasi makna dari kata kerja utama.
