adjar.id – Kali ini kita akan mempelajari main idea dari sebuah teks atau dalam bahasa Indonesia disebut dengan ide pokok.
Kita diminta untuk mengidentifikasi main idea pada setiap paragraf teks yang sudah tersedia.
Setelah itu, kita diminta untuk menuliskan informasi penting menggunakan kalimat kita sendiri.
Soal tersebut ada pada buku Bahasa Inggris kelas X (SMA) edisi revisi 2016 Chapter 1 halaman 6 bagian reading comprehension tasks 2 text 1.
Tepatnya pada materi Talking About Self.
Perintah soal yang akan kita kerjakan berbunyi "identify the main idea of each paragraphs, and then write the most important details in your own words"
O iya, karena soal termasuk dalam soal essay, maka jawaban bisa beragam satu sama lain, Adjarian.
Namun, jawaban tetap harus mengacu pada teks di halaman 4 dan 5.

1. Paragraph 1
Main Idea: Hannah introduces herself.
Details:
- Hannah knew Alia from Caroline.
- Caroline told Hannah that Alia wanted to have pen pals from the USA.

2. Paragraph 2
Main Idea: Hannah tells about herself.
Details:
- Hannah is 16 years old and attends Thomas Edison High School here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
- Hannah has two brothers and two half-sisters and she is the middle child.
- Her father died a few years ago so my mother runs the house and the family business.
- Her father was a barista.
3. Paragraph 3
Main Idea: Hannah tells about her hobbies and favorite subjects.

Details:
- Hannah likes music – mostly classical music and folk music – but she doesn’t play an instrument.
- Hannah likes sports, especially tennis and basketball.

- Hannah is into animals very much. Her sister and she have three dogs.
- Her favorite subjects at school are art and geography.
4. Paragraph 4
Main Idea: Hannah tells about her dream.
